the story
Double D’s Run for the cure, this team was created in memory of one of my best friend’s mom, who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2011. Every year Megan enters the Double D’s to continue the tradition she wanted so badly to be part of. Every step is for her, for those fighting, for the survivors, for the families who walk alongside them, for the hope that one day pink will just be a color.
This years design features the breast cancer ribbon along side prairie Lillys (mom’s favourite) The Saskatchewan prairie Lilly represents the place she was proud to call home. The northern lights on the ribbon carry a personal meaning. When she was sick she told us she would be dancing in the sky to remind us she would be watching over us. On the night she passed the sky lit up with the most incredible display of northern lights and to this day they never fail to put on a show when we are missing her the most.
We have curated one of a kind pieces, with the option to add the “DD est. 2011” to the sleeve. All profits go towards the Double D’s run for the cure, there is also a link below to directly donate to the teams fundraising
Thank you for helping us carry her legacy forward, one step at a time
